For more than 30 years, Sharon Flanagan-Hyde has brought energy and enthusiasm working with dozens of nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and government agencies to build strong communities. Sharon is a senior partner with Flanagan-Hyde Associates, LLC.
Sharon is widely recognized as an accomplished and intuitive facilitator. Combining critical thinking with practical tools, she quickly identifies strengths, problems, and workable solutions.
Even in the most difficult conversations, Sharon brings reassuring strength, curiosity, calmness, and compassion. She is committed to bringing out the best thinking of everyone in the room.
Prior to founding the consulting firm in 2003, she was vice president and chief operating officer of a national health care market research and strategic planning firm, where she implemented processes that saved staff time and ensured high quality.
Sharon has an MA in Organizational Change from Prescott College and a BA from Williams College.
She is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer, a Fourth Quadrant Partners Emergent Learning Certified Master Practitioner, and an International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Accredited Business Communicator. Her training includes The Grove’s Principles of Graphic Facilitation, The Berkana Institute’s Art of Hosting, World Café, and Open Space Technology, and PeerSpirit’s Circle for Participatory Leadership.
Peter Flanagan-Hyde, Senior Partner
Throughout his career, Peter’s quick wit and signature puns and metaphors have brought smiles to the faces of his clients, colleagues, and students. Whatever the subject or activity, Peter brings keen insight and knowledge to the conversation. He is a reliable guide in the learning process, pushing people with compassion and humor toward an understanding of purpose and meaning.
Peter is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer and a Certified Master Practitioner in Emergent Learning through Fourth Quadrant Partners. He has been trained in the Lifecycles Model through the Nonprofit Lifecycles Institute and holds a Certificate in Social Impact Measurement through Arizona State University, Lodestar Center for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Innovation, Nonprofit Management Institute. He was a Fellow in the St. Luke’s Health Initiatives (now Vitalyst Health Foundation) Alliance Initiative and is a member of the American Evaluation Association.
Peter has mastered the art of assessing the alignment of how an organization seeks to do its work and the day-to-day reality. He is clear and concise in expressing both observations and opportunities for improvement and growth. Bringing these skills of facilitation helps accelerate groups toward their most important goals. This is particularly important when supporting organizations in transition as a Professional Interim Executive Director and guiding boards as they build governance capacity.
Prior joining Flanagan-Hyde Associates, Peter worked in independent schools as an administrator and teacher. He was responsible for faculty development and program evaluation in a large K-12 nonprofit school. His teaching focused on statistics education, where he was a national leader in the College Board’s Advanced Placement program and a widely published author and sought-after presenter at conferences.
Peter has a BA from Williams College and an MA from Columbia University.
His community involvement includes more than 20 years of active participation in SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity), a monthly gathering to reflect and take action on equity and diversity issues in the school and community. Peter holds a Poverty Coaching Certificate through the Poverty Institute and completed Justice in Investigative Leadership Training through the Social Centric Institute.
